This wonderful herbal elixir of the monks who lived in the French St. Anton monastery was introduced to posterity by Nicola Lemery in the mid-1600s.

Lemery was a doctor, chemist, and Louis XIV’s (the Sun King) apothecary.

Lemery was a prominent intellectual luminary of his time and in 1699 was appointed to the Royal Academy of Sciences.

From 1790, it was Fabre and Bouet, two apothecaries from Lausanne who continued the production of Arquebusade Water using the original recipe of the Arquebusade Elixir written in the 1600s. The merchant house they founded in 1790, can be considered to be the first official manufacturer of Arquebusade Water. A number of documents, correspondences and invoices written with quill remained from them for the generations to come.

The efficacy of their Arquebusade Water was well known throughout Europe and had an extensive reputation. The Arquebusade Water was very often accepted as a means of payment.

How to Use

Apply liberally to the affected area, then let the herbal extract absorb completely. If necessary, gently massage it into the skin until thoroughly rubbed in. Once you see improvements in the first few days, continue with regular application until all symptoms are eliminated or substantially reduced.

For many, the first positive signs often start to occur within 8 to 12 days; however, for others, it may be 2 to 3 weeks before improvements begin to appear. *Please note that the time necessary to achieve results may vary between individuals.

If no visible changes are observed after 3-4 weeks, then possibly the elixir is not suitable for you.

For normal usage, spray the Arquebusade Water generously to the affected skin 5-6 times per day. If you are sensitive to alcohol, the elixir can be diluted. If your skin is still sensitive to any of the product ingredients, discontinue use. Store in a cool dry place, out of reach of children. The product contains linalool, a naturally occurring essential oil with anti-inflammatory properties which in rare instances may cause an allergic reaction.
